Now, Pete Lau has shared an image teasing the back finish of the device.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter to tease the Kevlar finish on the back of the OnePlus TV. The image further reveals a unique stand design, which is unlike other TVs available in the market today. The stand is said to have a swivel mechanism and appears to hold the TV from the top. — Pete Lau (@PeteLau) September 9, 2019Lau has also revealed that the OnePlus TV will run Android TV. It will also receive software updates for at least three years. Hence, the TV will offer features like access to Google Assistant and the Play Store. Further, Lau said in a post that the goal is to offer the same fast and smooth experience of OnePlus phones for the OnePlus TV and the only way to achieve that was by adopting Android TV. However, it is expected to ship with a modified version of Android TV OS.
Rumours have it that the OnePlus TV would be announced in four different sizes: 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch size variants. The TV will feature a custom Gamma Color Magic processor. The remote is likely to pair with the OnePlus TV via Bluetooth and previously, a Bluetooth remote was certified by the Bluetooth SIG.
