A person’s “personality rights” include their hold on their name, image, likeness, voice, and other attributes of their personality, and this is not to be used commercially or otherwise without their permission. This is more common in the world of celebrities. Mr Kapoor had filed the case against any misuse of his personal attributes, even on digital media. Being a public figure, Mr Kapoor saw many cases where his face, voice, and other attributes were being used without his knowledge and permission.

Taking this into consideration, the Delhi High Court held a detailed hearing on the matter on Wednesday. Post which, the High Court granted an order and even acknowledged his personality rights. Further, the court issued a restraining order that prohibits anyone from misusing his personal attributes without his permission.
