JioPhone 2 next flash sale on August 30


The JioPhone 2 was recently made available for purchase through a flash sale and Reliance Jio announced that it was sold out in minutes. Now, the company has announced that the device will go up for purchase again via a second flash sale on August 30 at 12PM. The new phone is priced at Rs 2,999 and one will be able to purchase it at the above-specified date via Jio.com. 

The device is the successor of the JioPhone, however, most of its specs remain the same. It features a QWERTY keypad with a four-way navigation keys and a horizontal display. JioPhone 2 Specs and features The JioPhone 2 sports a 2.4-inch display and houses a QWERTY keypad with a four-way navigation key. The phone is equipped with 512MB RAM, coupled with 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a micro-SD card. The JioPhone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and in terms of optics, it comes with a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing sensor. 

It supports dual SIM cards, runs on the same KAI OS as the first JioPhone and is powered by a 2,000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, The JioPhone 2 supports VoLTE as well as Jio’s upcoming VoWiFi service, which will enable users to place phone calls using any public Wi-Fi. The phone also supports NFC, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth Low Energy and will have an FM Radio built-in. Similar to the JioPhone, the JioPhone 2 also supports voice commands, so users can just press one button to open apps, send messages and much more. 

JioPhone 2 recharge options Reliance Jio offers three plans for JioPhone users. First up is the Rs 48 plan with which users get unlimited calling, 1GB high-speed data, 50 free SMS, and access to Jio’s suite of apps for 28 days. The Rs 99 plan comes with 14GB of data, free calling, 300 SMS, along with access to Jio apps for 28 days. Finally, the Rs 153 plan from Jio offers free calling, 42GB of data, access to Jio apps, and unlimited SMS, again, for a validity of 28 days. 

Those who don’t want to buy the new JioPhone 2 can buy the original JioPhone, which is being sold under the Monsoon Hungama Offer. Under the offer, one can exchange their existing feature phone for a JioPhone by exchanging it with an old feature phone and paying an additional sum of Rs 501. The amount of Rs 501 will be refunded after three years. Jio is also bundling a special recharge plan priced for Rs 594 and as it is a combined offer, users who purchase the JioPhone under the Monsoon Hungama offer will need to perform the recharge.
