Watch Netflix for free during this years Streamfest on December 5 and 6

If you don’t have a Netflix subscription but still want to check out some of the platforms shows and films, you can do so for free in December. Netflix is hosting Streamfest, starting on December 5 12:01 AM to December 6 11:59 PM. If you’re in India, you can check out some of Netflix’s best shows and movies for the entire weekend. Do note that you will only receive SD content when accessing Streamfest. You could also exhaust the number of free views on the service so do be careful of that.

We previously reported that Netflix was testing out a free weekend trial feature in India. Greg Peters, COO and Chief Product Officer at Netflix said, “We think that giving away everyone in the country access to Netflix for free for a weekend could be a great way to expose a bunch of new people to the amazing stories that we have, the service and how it works … and hopefully get a bunch of those folks to sign up”.  So it looks like Netflix is still carrying the torch for a new weekend trial with this year's Streamfest.

Also, you do not need any payment details to access the free content. All you need is an email and phone number to get started. Monica Shergill, VP of Content, Netflix India said, “So, anyone in India can watch all the blockbuster films, the biggest series, award-winning documentaries, and entertaining reality shows for two whole days.”, on a Netflix blog. She also added, “From November 20, you can also visit Netflix.com/StreamFest and set a reminder with your email or phone number. And we’ll let you know as soon as StreamFest is live.”.

So, if you’ve been wanting to check out Sacred Games or even Mindhunters, you should definitely sign up for Streamfest on Netflix. Also, do remember that Netflix and other OTT platforms will now be regulated by the Indian government. You can read more about that story here.
