Acer announces latest lineup of consumer laptops, introduces new TravelMate notebooks and Porsche Design Acer Book RS

Acer has introduced a suite of new consumer notebooks across its Swift, Spin and Aspire series, all powered by 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The refreshed devices also come with features such as full HD IPS touch screens, ports that provide fast and convenient data transfer and the flexibility of different modes. Most also include Cortana and/or Windows Hello. It has a 360-degree hinge design that enables it to transform into tablet mode for taking notes or clamshell mode for typing, where the keyboard is slightly elevated for an ergonomic typing experience and better thermal performance. You can also opt for a BPR & EPA-compliant silver-ion antimicrobial agent in the coating on the keyboard, touchpad and surrounding surface, which has been proven to show a consistently high microbial reduction rate against a broad range of bacteria. It also comes with a built-in Acer Active Stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity to make the most of the touch screen when sketching or writing. It will be available in North America in March 2021 starting at $849.99; and in Europe, Middle East and Africa in December starting at 899 euros. An ergonomic hinge design lifts the body and tilts the keyboard to an angle for comfortable typing, better sound projection and improved ventilation. These light and thin devices pack plenty of power: 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics or up to discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPUs and up to 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 4 lane PCIe SSDs and 1 TB M.2 SSD storage. You can also expect to get a full day of work – and then some – out of each device. The TravelMate Spin P4 and TravelMate P4 notebooks’ batteries last up to 15 hours, while the TravelMate P2’s batteries can last up to 13 hours [1]. The TravelMate P4 and TravelMate Spin P4 come with updates that can make the transition to working at home easier: a spill-resistant keyboard and shock-absorbent corners. Conference calls will also sound clearer with upward facing speakers. All three models come with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) to ensure a smoother wireless experience and have eSIM-enabled 4G LTE connectivity, so business travelers can connect to local networks and quickly set up new data plans without having to swap out SIM cards or visit stores. They all also have an Intel Thunderbolt 4 port, enabling lightning-fast data transfer up to 40 Gbs — four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other port type. The Porsche Design Acer Book RS comes with an all-metal chassis that packs in up to the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU – all within 2.65 pounds and 0.63 inches. A carbon fiber cover tops off the chassis, a distinctive touch derived from decades of motorsports designs that value carbon fiber for its lightweight strength and extreme performance. Intel co-engineered this device, which falls within the Intel Evo platform verified models that meet key experience targets for consistent responsiveness on battery, instant wake, real-world battery life and fast charge [2]. The two covers are connected by a unibody hinge that slightly elevates the keyboard upon opening the notebook, improving cooling and creating a more ergonomic typing experience.
