Samsung PlayGalaxy Link game streaming app now available on Galaxy Note10 phones

Samsung announced a PlayGalaxy Link feature during the launch of its Samsung Galaxy Note10 series and the new option is now available in beta for users in the US and South Korea. From what we know so far, the option enables a Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ user to stream their library of PC games directly to their device and can be used at home or for gaming while on the go. It also works when the host PC and the mobile device are not connected to the same Wi-Fi, which means a 4G connection should work fine but 5G should be better since it is all about low-latency.

The PlayGalaxy website is also up and one can download the Windows client for it here. The website was first spotted by the folks over at Android Auá¹hority who also came across the companion app for the feature on the Google Play Store. The app is currently available only on Samsung Galaxy Note10 phones but is expected to soon roll out for more Samsung devices. Alongside on-screen keypads, the PlayGalaxy Link also supports Bluetooth controllers and mice and keyboards. However, playing a PC game with touch input on a mobile device might be considered injustice to a title.

Samsung’s PlayGalaxy website suggests using a Glap controller while streaming games since it is said to be optimized for Galaxy phones. The app is free to download on both PC and mobile, and once installed a setup, it will automatically find and add games to your library. This can also be done manually in case the app misses some titles. Do note that a Samsung account is required for the PlayGalaxy option to work. Recommended specifications of a PC running the PlayGalaxy Link includes an Intel Core i5 or higher processor, 8GB DDR4 memory, Nvidia GTX 1060+ or AMD Radeon RX550+ GPU and Windows 10.
