OnePlus 7T with Snapdragon 855+, 655-inch AMOLED 90Hz display launched in India

After several teases, leaks and reports, OnePlus has made its new OnePlus 7T smartphone official in India. As expected, the new handset is a successor to the OnePlus 7 and it comes equipped with a 90Hz refresh rate display with a waterdrop notch design. It sports a circular camera setup on the back and sports some new features like Macro photography, Warp Charge 30T and more to entice consumers. However, it remains to be seen whether it is a good enough offering to persuade OnePlus 7 series users, who recently bought their handsets. Here’s all you need to know about the new OnePlus 7T.

OnePlus 7T specifications

The OnePlus 7T sports an all-glass design with a 4th gen matte-frosted glass on the rear. It sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED 90Hz display that features a 20:9 display aspect ratio and also supports HDR10+. The handset comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and supports Chromatic Reading Mode that desaturates the display colour for providing an ‘enhanced’ reading experience. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, which is a slightly overclocked version of the Snapdragon 855 processor, and comes equipped with 8GB RAM and options to select from 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus 7T comes equipped with a circular triple rear camera setup that houses the sensors horizontally. It consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor that supports Hybrid Image Stabilisation (HIS), which combines both OIS and EIS, and is paired with an f/1.6 aperture lens. There’s also a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.2 aperture lens that enables up to 2x optical zoom. Alongside portrait mode, the rear camera supports Nightscape imaging, Macro photography, and more shooting modes. On the front is a 16MP Sony IMX472 sensor that supports EIS.

The OnePlus 7T packs stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and gets a new haptic vibration motor. It is backed by a 3800mAh battery and supports new Warp Charge 30T charging technology, which is said to be 18 percent faster than the Warp Charge 30. There’s also a new graphite heat sink pipe to keep the device cooler while charging.

It runs on OxygenOS 10 that is built on Android 10 out-of-the-box and OxygenOS has also been tweaked. The phone’s gallery will now automatically create ‘smart’ albums for sorting images and the company is also offering 5GB free cloud storage for its users, along with an additional 50GB. There’s also a Work-Life Balance feature that sorts and shuns notifications from apps depending on how it is configured.

OnePlus 7T price, availability and launch offers

The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version of the OnePlus 7T is priced at Rs 37,999, while the handset’s 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 39,999. It comes in Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver colour models, and will be available for purchase from 12PM on September 28 via Amazon, OnePlus.in and OnePlus Experience Stores.
