Asus ROG Phone II with 120Hz HDR display, Snapdragon 855 launched in India: All you need to know

Back in July, Asus launched its second gaming phone in China and has now introduced the Asus ROG Phone II in India as well. The device joins a growing list of gaming handsets and the company is aiming at mobile gamers by offering high refresh rate display, Snapdragon 855+ processor, a number of gaming accessories and more. The ROG Phone II will go up against the likes of OnePlus 7, Asus Zenfone 6Z and other upper mid-range range handsets. The company has also announced a slew of accessories for the device.

Asus ROG Phone II specifications

Asus ROG Phone II offers an amalgam of metal and glass design with an RGB-lit ROG logo at the back. It comes equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that has a 1080 x 2340p resolution with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 10-bit HDR support. The display refresh rate can go up to 120Hz and is said to have 1ms latency, which is aimed at enhancing the gaming experience on the device. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, and it comes in two variants, one with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage and another with 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal space. While pricing of the latter variant is announced, it will be made available for purchase in India at a later date.

The ROG Phone II also gets a spec bump over its predecessor in terms of camera. It comes equipped with a 48MP Quad Bayer sensor for the main camera and it is supplemented with a 13MP sensor that has 125 degree ultra-wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 6000mAh battery that supports 30W ROG HyperCharge technology, along with Quick Charge 4.0 support. On the front is a 24MP sensor.

It charges via a Type C, features Turbo fan cooling, RGB lighting, and a 3.5mm audio jack. While it reminds us of the Nintendo DS, the TwinView II accessory can be used in games to either view a map or even play two games at once.
