Xiaomi launched its third Android One smartphone in India, the Mi A3 a couple of days ago. Now, the handset is going up for sale via Amazon.in, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. The mid-range smartphone by the company is the successor to Mi A2 and similar to its predecessor, it runs on stock Android 9 Pie OS. It goes up against the likes of Realme 5 Pro and other similarly priced handsets, but has the stock Android advantage, which might appeal to some users. The Mi A3 runs on the new Snapdragon 665 SoC and comes in two variants.
Xiaomi Mi A3 specsThe Xiaomi Mi A3 is equipped with a 6.08-inch AMOLED HD+ display that has a 19.5:9 display aspect ratio and a 1560 x 720p resolution. In comparison with the Mi A2, the phone’s display is slightly bigger but it takes a step back in terms of resolution since the Mi A2 sports a Full HD display with a 1080 x 2160p resolution. The Mi A3 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, which is paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage space. The handset runs on a 4030mAh battery that uses a USB Type-C port for charging. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 with 18W Fast Charge. In addition, the company decided to bring back the 3.5mm audio jack, which was removed from the Mi A2.
In terms of optics, the Mi A3 sports a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 48MP Sony sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens. There’s also an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear camera can record 4K video at 30fps and slow-motion Full HD video at 120fps. It also supports AI portrait mode. On the front is a 32MP sensor, which is paired with an f/2.0 aperture lens and comes with support for AI Face Unlock and Panorama selfie. The handset features P2i nano-coating that is said to provide protection against accidental spills.
