Amazon Prime subscription offered at half price for 18-24 year olds

If you belong to the 18-24 age group, Amazon Prime subscription is available for half the price. As part of its Prime Day sale event, Amazon is offering Prime subscriptions to youngsters at half the price. Users within the age group of 18-24 will receive a Rs 500 cashback on joining Amazon Prime for Rs 999. New subscribers who use the offer will also be eligible for Prime Day sale benefits.

To avail the offer, users will have to sign up for the membership either via Amazon's iOS or Android app. Desktop and mobile websites will not show the offer. Furthermore, users will have to verify their age on Amazon.in. Called the ‘Youth Offer’, users will receive Rs 500 cashback as Amazon Pay balance. Age verification will require the user uploading a copy of their PAN card, proof of mailing address and a photo.

Once the user is verified to fall within the stipulated age group, Rs 500 cashback will be credited into their Amazon Pay account within 10 days, which can be used for recharges, bill payments, or at partner merchants.

The offer reminds us of the time when Prime Video was offered at Rs 499 as part of its introductory pricing when it launched back in July 2016. The offer was valid for over a year after which Amazon levied Rs 999 annually for the subscription. Amazon also introduced a monthly plan for Rs 129 but on that, there’s no discount or cashback.

Amazon Prime offers early access to deals and offers, unlimited free and fast delivery as well as Amazon Prime Video and Prime Music.
