Samsungs foldable phone to be called Samsung Galaxy Fold, says tipster Evan Blass

Highlights: Samsung’s foldable phone could be called the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The Galaxy Fold will be announced today alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones.  Samsung is hours away from unveiling its Galaxy S10 series of smartphones and it has already confirmed that its foldable phone will also debut at today’s event. However, some last minute leaks about the company’s foldable phone have surfaced. Evan Blass or @evleaks is a pretty reliable tipster who previously tipped at the alleged pricing and variants of the Galaxy S10 lineup. Now, a Twitter post by the leakster reads, “Samsung Galaxy Fold,” which could be the official name of Samsung’s foldable phone. Previous rumours of the phone suggested that it could be called the Galaxy F, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Flex or the Galaxy Winner.  Samsung showed off its foldable phone at its annual developer conference but it was encased and revealed in dim light so that its features are not entirely exposed. The phone features two displays, one of the screen is rumoured to be larger at 7.3-inch with 1536x2152p resolution and 420 dpi. The other one could be smaller at 4.58-inch with 840x1960p resolution and the same display density. The larger display may sport a 4.2:3 display aspect ratio, while the smaller one might have a 21:9 display aspect ratio. In a recent official video, the company showed off a number of futuristic tech and a foldable phone shown off in the video could have been the one that might be soon officially unveiled. Collating all the rumours of the Samsung Galaxy Fold we have come across so far, one gets a good idea of what the device could feature. Some high-quality 3D renders of the Samsung Galaxy Fold were outed previously, which suggested there might not be a front-facing camera on the device. This could turn out to be true as when the phone folds outwards, the rear cameras could face the user. This will remove the need for a front-facing camera. Additionally, the renders showcase an edge-to-edge display on the phone, in both folded and unfolded modes. When folded, the display shows four horizontally aligned icons, while in the unfolded state, the number of icons doubles up to eight that are placed from left-to-right.  Related Reads: Samsung 'Unpacked' preview: Galaxy S10 flagships, Foldable phone, wearables and everything else you can expect from Samsung's first big launch event of the year Samsung’s foldable phone 'Galaxy F' will unfold alongside Galaxy S10 series on February 20
