Samsung Galaxy S10 wireless charger with 15W output certified by FCC

Highlights: The new wireless charger is Qi-certified charger. It is expected to debut alongside the S10 smartphone. It looks like Samsung will debut a new wireless charger along with the Galaxy S10 smartphones on February 20 at the Unpacked Event. The wireless charger has a model number of EP-P5200 and has been certified by the FCC. To put things into perspective, the current Samsung wireless charger has a model number of EP-N5100. The Samsung EP-N5100 wireless charger has a 9V 1.67A input rating, the new EP-P5200 wireless charger is rated at 12V 2.1A. According to droidshout, “The input ratings are actually identical to the Samsung wireless charger duo. Since the Samsung wireless charger duo has a maximum output rating of 10V 0.75A, the new EP-P5200 will likely support the same output voltage.” What this means is that the upcoming smartphones will not support faster wireless charging than the Galaxy S9 duo and Galaxy Note 9. On the other hand, the the EP-P5200 will be a Qi-compatible wireless charger which means that you can charge any device that is compatible with a Qi-certified charger. Speaking of the upcoming Samsung phones, if information circulating the internet is to be believed, then the smallest variant of the S10 will not be called the S10 lite. Despite being available in three screen sizes, the S10 will be available as the S10 and the S10+. The S10 will be available in 5.8-inches and 6.1-inches screen sizes whereas the S10+ will be available with a 6.4-inch display. All the smartphones are expected to house a punch-hole camera. It is also speculated that a premium edition of the S10+ will be available sporting 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. There is no information on the price of the upcoming smartphones. The new Samsung devices along with the wireless charger will be unveiled at the Samsung unpacked event scheduled for February 20 and are expected to hit store shelves on March 8 2019.  As far as colours are concerned, the new Samsung phones will be available in Black, White and Sea Green options. It is also speculated that there will be some special colour options available such as Blue and Yellow. All the S10 variants are expected to launch with the company’s One UI and will house the endangered headphones jack. It is also expected that a 5G enabled Samsung Galaxy S10 will launch with a 5000mAh battery. Samsung is also expect to showcase its foldable smartphone at the event. Samsung has said that the foldable phone will launch in the first half of 2019, but there is no concrete release date for the phone.
