Samsung Galaxy A50 pops up on Wi-Fi Alliance website running Android 9 Pie

Highlights: Samsung Galaxy A50 receives Wi-Fi Alliance’s certification. The phone is listed as the Samsung Galaxy A505FN/DS with Android 9 Pie OS. The Galaxy A50 could be launched soon running on the Exynos 9610 SoC, with 4GB RAM. Samsung seems to be working on a slew of phones like new handsets in its M-series, a foldable phone and then there’s the upcoming launch of the Galaxy S10 series. You can add another one to the list but this phone could be from the company’s A-series. Android Soul spotted a new Samsung Galaxy A505FN/DS smartphone in a Wi-Fi Alliance listing, which is speculated to be the Samsung Galaxy A50. The listing doesn’t reveal much about the phone, except its serial number and that it could be launched running on Android 9 Pie. There is no concrete information on when the smartphone could be announced but considering that it bagged the Wi-Fi Alliance certification, it could launch soon.  The smartphone was previously spotted on Geekbench, where it was listed running on the Exynos 9610 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM. It is speculated to come in 64GB or 128GB storage options and could be powered by a 4000mAh battery. A previous report about the Galaxy A50 suggests that it will sport the company’s new OneUI and may come equipped with wireless charging technology and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the smartphone might feature a 24MP rear camera. There’s not much information about the phone’s display, except that it might sport an LCD panel.  As mentioned above, Samsung is also working on its M-series of smartphones, which are slated to launch first in India. The Galaxy M series are expected to replace the present Galaxy J-series phones and could go up against the Chinese OEMs in the affordable segment. Samsung will announce its M-series of phones on January 28 in India and they will be sold exclusively via Amazon India and Samsung's e-commerce portal. The phones in this new lineup could be Galaxy M10, M20 and M30. A report suggests that the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 will be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 in the country.  Previous leaks of the phones suggest that the Galaxy M10 might be an entry-level handset. It could sport a 5.6-inch LCD display and could be running on the Exynos 7870 SoC, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.  It might sport a 13MP camera on the back, while up front, there may be a 5MP sensor. The device could be powered by a 3000mAh battery The Galaxy M20 is said to come equipped with a 6.1-inch LCD panel and could be powered by the Exynos 7885 SoC. It might also come with 3GB RAM but with 64GB of storage and a large 5000mAh battery. A 12MP + 5MP dual camera unit could be present on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. The Galaxy M30 is expected to feature a waterdrop notch display design, which Samsung calls the Infinity U display. It could be backed by a 5000mAh battery and might be running on the Exynos 7885 octa-core SoC. The phone might sport a triple-camera setup on the back, similar to the one seen on the Galaxy A7, with a 13MP + 5MP + 5MP sensor configuration. On the front, it is speculated to come with a 16MP sensor.  Related Reads:  Samsung Galaxy M series smartphones to launch first in India on January 28, will be Amazon exclusive Samsung Galaxy S10 to launch on February 20 ahead of MWC 2019, foldable phone could come in tow Samsung Galaxy S10 rumour roundup
