Highlights: Oppo Poseidon with Snapdragon 855 spotted on Geekbench The phone is seen running Android 9 Oppo is one of the leading innovators in the telecom world. It became the first company to make a video call on 5G network and now it could well become the first company to launch a 5G capable phone to take on Samsung. Needless to say that the processor on Oppo Poseidon would be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 85, and it has now been spotted on Geekbench website. According to the listing, the Oppo Poseidon has scored 3810 points on single core test and 10963 on multicore test. The phone runs the Android 9.0 Pie but unfortunately, there is no information on the RAM on this device. Oppo’s previous smartphone with the flagship Snapdragon 845 processor, the Oppo Find X, had an 8GB RAM, hence, it is could be a possibility that the company may launch this phone with 8GB RAM. Last month, Oppo showcased Find X 5G engineering sample in China. The device was fitted with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 SoC and X50 5G modem. Oppo demonstrated 5G data connectivity and applications, including browsing, online video replay and video call using the prototype. Oppo says that is has been working on 5G standards, product R&D and the exploration of applications since 2015. Oppo also made the world's first multiparty video call on a smartphone via 5G network. The company said that it made the the call on WeChat using a 5G network. Oppo said that engineers from six Oppo R&D centres situated in different parts of the world participated in the video call at 12:57 am China time.
