The laptop features a detachable and foldable RGB backlit keyboard which can be removed to create the much needed space if gamers prefer to use their own keyboards or if gamers want to position the keyboard as per their preferences. Another notable design element is its raised form factor. The ROG Mothership does not sit flat on the surface and instead, is propped up to draw more air into the dual 12V fans. The bottom edge of the chassis gets a stepless kickstand which automatically pops out when it touches the surface to allow one-handed deployment. The hinge of the laptop further helps position the ROG Mothership in a range of angles, from standing straight and leaning back. The display can even hunch over so gamers can look down on it. The ROG Mothership looks a lot like the Surface Pro, but it can easily blow the microsoft 2-in-1 out of the park when it comes to its powerful specs. Let’s break down the specs of the laptop for you. Asus ROG Mothership specs The Mothership from Asus comes packing a 17.3-inch FHD (1920x1080) IPS-level panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 100% sRGB colours, Optimus for longer battery life and G-SYNC for smoother gameplay. Users can also switch between Optimus and G-SYNC with a few clicks. Graphics on the Asus ROG Mothership are powered by real-time Ray Tracing capable NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 with 8GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM. For its processing needs, the Mothership gets the Intel Core i9-8950HK CPU which can be overclocked to run at 4.8 GHz. It features up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM. The three-drive HyperDrive Extreme array in the ROG Mothership hangs two SSDs directly off the CPU, bypassing the DMI bottleneck and enabling peak throughput up to 8700MB/s. All three drives are covered by a heat spreader that improves cooling for sustained storage loads. When separated, the keyboard connects over low-latency 2.4GHz wireless or via the included Type-C USB cable. Each key has 2.5mm of travel enhanced by fast-firing Overstroke technology. The underlying switches are built to last and rated to survive 20 million presses. The function keys are separated, and the touchpad on the right transforms into a backlit numpad with a button.
