HMD Global hosting an event in India on December 6, could launch Nokia 71

HMD Global, the company that holds the brand rights to Nokia, has announced that they will be hosting an event in New Delhi on December 6. Incidentally, the company is hosting an event in Dubai on December 5, where the company is expected to unveil three new products.  While we’re not sure of how many products HMD Global will announce in India on the 6th, we do expect that the Nokia 7.1 would most likely be one of the candidates. HMD India had also been teasing the Nokia 8.1 Plus over the last few days, so we could see the announcement of both the phones in India. The Nokia 7.1 has already been announced in some international markets and sports a 5.8-inch 19:9 display with FHD+ resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 636 and paired with either 3 or 4GB of RAM with 32/64GB of storage which is expandable. There's a 12MP camera on the back paired with a 5 MP depth sensor, while on the front you get an 8 MP shooter for selfies. The Nokia 7.1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but the update to Android 9 Pie is out now. Now the interesting thing here would be the Nokia 7.1 Plus, which has a rather confusing identity. The Nokia 7.1 Plus will allegedly be the global version of the Nokia X7 that was launched in China. However, it could end up being called the Nokia 8.1 for some reason. The Nokia X7 itself is powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 4 or 6GB of RAM. There is 64/128GB of onboard storage which can further be expanded to 400GB by the use of a MicroSD Card. The primary camera unit is a 12+13 megapixel array with Zeiss optics and dual pixel PDAF for fast and accurate focussing and on the front, a 20 megapixel shooter for selfies. What the company will finally end up launching is something we will only know for sure on December 6 so until then, we paitiently wait.
