Sony Xperia XZ1, XZ Premium, XA1 Plus, XA1, R1 Plus and R1 receive price cuts in India

Ahead of the Diwali festivities, Sony has announced a price cut on its Xperia series of smartphones. Sony confirmed the price drops to Digit, saying that the top-end Sony Xperia XZ Premium, and the Xperia XZ1 have received a Rs 10,000 price cut and prices of the Sony Xperia R1, Xperia R1 Plus, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Plus have also been lowered. The price cuts on these phones can be availed across both online and offline retail channels. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium can now be purchased at Rs 39,990, down from Rs 49,990, and the Xperia XZ1 smartphone is down to Rs 34,990 from its previous best buy price of Rs 49,990. After the price cut, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus costs Rs 14,990, while it previously costed Rs 19,990. The Sony Xperia XA1 was previously priced at Rs 17,990 and it will now be available at Rs 12,990. Finally, the Xperia R1 Plus and the Xperia R1 are now also available at reduced prices of Rs 10,990 and Rs 7,990 respectively, down from their previous best buy prices of Rs 12,990 and Rs 9,990. To recall, Sony had previously cut prices for the Xperia XZs, Xperia L2 and the Xperia R1 in India.  The Xperia XZ Premium was launched in India back in June last year. It is powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It features a 5.5-inch 4K display and is backed by a 3,230mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Xperia XZ1 was launched in September last year in India with the same Snapdragon 835 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It features a 5.2-inch LCD display and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.  The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus was launched in September last year. It comes equipped with a 5.5-inch full-HD display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The Xperia XA1 is also powered by the same processor as the XA1 Plus. It sports a 5-inch HD display and comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Its highlight is a 23MP rear camera.  Launched in October last year, the Sony Xperia R1 features a 5.2-inch HD TFT display and a Snapdragon 430 SoC. It features 2GB RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage is powered by a 2,620mAh battery. The Xperia R1 Plus features the same specifications as the Xperia R1 but it gets 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage.
