PUBG teases Halloween event with creepy clowns, nurses and more

Halloween is just around the corner and you know what that means, many online games are prepping for their respective festive events. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or PUBG has teased its Halloween event on Twitter with the text, ‘Beware… Halloween Approaches’.  The 9-second clip clip doesn’t reveal much besides a few clothing options or skins that players might be able to unlock. This includes a nurse, which looks like the one from Silent Hill, a closeup of a man with a bloody apron and a butcher’s knife à la Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and lastly, a creepy clown who looks a lot like Pennywise from IT. There also seem to be a couple of characters with masks, which sort of reminds one of the Purge series of movies. Beyond this, there is very little information one can glean from the teaser. The YouTube version of the same clip comes with the description, “No Treats. All Trick,” which doesn’t really reveal much. Recently, Tencent shared with us the beta version of PUBG Mobile v0.9.0. This version of the game is expected to roll out on October 26. One of the additions in the update were certain Halloween stye effects. The Spawn Island now features a festive makeover and players will be able to interact with other players by picking up pumpkins and candies. Enemies who are killed by the Hellfire AKM will become scarecrows and when a grenade explodes, a “spooky” face will appear. There’s also a 50% chance to activate Night Mode when the Halloween event period is active.  The update also brings a number of other changes. There is the aforementioned Night Mode that is making its way to the Erangel map. The map will now alternate between day and night randomly in Classic Mode. There is also the addition of Night Vision goggles. The update adds new buildings in certain areas, cover next to rivers and trees in empty areas.
