OnePlus will officially “Unlock the Speed” with the launch of the OnePlus 6T smartphone at the KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi at 8:30PM on October 30. Amid a flurry of rumours and leaks, two weeks ahead of the launch, the smartphone has apparently been spotted on Geekbench revealing some information about the internals. The handset is reported to be listed camouflaged under a false name. According to tech news platform wccftech, OnePlus has apparently used ‘FS FS P8801’ name for the OnePlus 6T for Geekbench’s database. It also says that using false names has become more of a tradition for OnePlus and the OnePlus 6 was seen with the name ‘NS NS P7819’ on Geekbench. OnePlus 6T is expected to have a new UI which OnePlus’ software expert Szymon K says will be the most “intuitive and distinctive”. The OS is reported to feature an improved camera app, a more advanced Do Not Disturb mode, and new navigation gestures. What the smartphone will not have is a 3.5mm headphone jack which has been removed to make space for the in-display fingerprint sensor. OnePlus 6T is confirmed to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor and is expected to feature a ‘waterdrop’ notch on a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen display which may have a 2340x1080p resolution. The smartphone will most likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU. When it comes to the variants, the OnePlus 6T could be launched in 6GB and 8GB RAM versions and with 64GB/128GB/256GB of storage options. Amazon.in has already listed the smartphone for pre-booking and those who pre-order the device will get to avail free Type C Bullets earphones and Rs 500 Amazon Pay balance. The offer is listed under the Gift Cards section of Today’s Deals on Amazon and it suggests that it’s a part of the “OnePlus 6T Pre-Book GC Sale,” which is being hosted between October 9 - October 30.
