Google Pixel 3 XL leaks again in a hands-on video from Hong Kong, Canadian prices revealed

The Google Pixel 3 launch event is slated for tomorrow and reports surrounding the Pixel 3 XL smartphone, which is reportedly “the most leaked phone ever at this point,” just refuse to die down. A new hands-on video of the alleged Pixel 3 XL smartphone has been released by a Richard Lai, who is the Editor-in-Chief of Engadget China. He claims that he borrowed the handset from a Hong Kong mobile shop, which is offering a fully-boxed device for a HK$15,880 or around $2,030 (Rs 1.5 lakh). The main difference that can be noticed in the video and the photos shared in the report is that the smartphone doesn’t seem to have an all glass back -  a design that has been claimed in several videos leaked previously. The smartphone is seen sporting a similar design as that of the Pixel 2 XL - one-third glass and two-third metal with some kind of plastic coating. Otherwise all the details mentioned in the video fall in line with previous leaks. To prove the legitimacy of the device, Lai shows a hologram with “G” written on the front of the box and #teampixel written on the back of it. Though the box doesn’t provide much information on the phone's specifications, it mentions a 6.3-inch screen size, 128GB storage capacity, “Just Black” colour, model number “G013C” and “Designed by Google Made in China” catchphrase. As far as the contents of the box are concerned, Lai says the box contain a pair of USB-C earphones, a USB-C-to-3.5mm dongle, a USB-C-to-USB-C cable, a USB-C-to-USB-A dongle and an 18W USB-C power adapter. He also claims that according to a couple of IMEI databases, this unit is recognised as the Pixel 3 XL smartphone. The device in question is reported to be powered by the Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset, along with a 4GB of RAM. The display resolution is apparently 2,960 x 1,440 and there is no clarity on the type of the OLED panel used in the smartphone. It could be an improved LG-manufactured pOLED display which is expected to have a notch that we have already seen in previous leaks. The Pixel 3 XL is seen running on the Google's latest Android Pie 9.0 with gesture navigation, and with the Active Edge feature that lets users squeeze the smartphone from the sides to perform actions like summoning the Google Assistant and muting sound alerts. In the camera department, the Pixel 3 XL's camera app reportedly confirms the 12.2MP resolution for the single rear camera and 8MP sensors of the front cameras. One of the two front cameras is said to have a super-wide lens which has apparently been introduced to take group selfies. The main camera is said to record video in 4K 30fps quality. Meanwhile, in a related incident, the prices of the different variants of the smartphone have been leaked in Canada. According to a user on Reddit, he was offered upgrades from his carrier (Freedom Mobile in Canada) for the Pixel 3 smartphone. He shared some screenshots of the device and says that the Pixel 3 64GB model is available for CAD$999 (approx Rs 57,000), the Pixel 3 128GB is priced at CAD$1129 (approx Rs 64,000), the Pixel 3 XL 64GB is seen up for grabs for CAD$1129 (approx Rs 64,000) and the Pixel 3 XL 128GB is said to cost customers CAD$1259 (approx Rs 71,600).
