Thomson has expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of two 4k UHD TVs. The company’s UD9 series of televisions come in a 50-inch and a 55-inch model and will be available for purchase exclusively via Flipkart. The new devices come equipped with the company’s revamped UI that is said to have been tailored for users in India. The TVs have been customized to display content with top trending videos, music and more in 14 plus languages. The two Thomson TVs come with the company’s own app and the company has also tied up with local content providers for delivering content in regional languages. Both the devices will be available via Flipkart at 12 PM on September 13. Thomson UD9 55-inch UHD TV Thomson has priced its 55-inch UHD TV at Rs 39,999 and it features a Samsung LED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 3840 x 2160p resolution. It is an A Plus grade panel with 450 nits of brightness and 300000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The TV is powered by the 64-bit ARM Cortex CA53 SoC with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It features an Android-based OS that enables installation of apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hotstar and more. The 55-inch Thomson TV sports a 20W speaker and supports Wi-Fi, Miracast and comes with an ethernet, three HDMI, and two USB ports. Thomson UD9 50-inch UHD TV The 50-inch Thomson UHD TV is priced at Rs 33,999. It features a 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD resolution with 60Hz refresh rate and comes equipped with a 20W speaker. The TV uses Samsung’s Grade A Plus LED panel that supports a 178-degree viewing angle. The television is powered by a 64-bit ARM Cortex CA53 SoC, which comes with the Mali-T720MP2 GPU. It features 1GB RAM with 8GB of internal storage and as it runs on an Android-based OS, it supports apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hotstar, Gmail and more. In terms of connectivity, the TV supports Wi-Fi, Miracast, comes with 3 HDMI, 2 USB and an ethernet port.
