Samsung has finally launched its Galaxy Watch in India after unveiling it alongside the Galaxy Note 9 in the US. The smartwatch will be available in India in two variants - one with a 46mm case in silver with matt black bezels priced at Rs 29,990 and another 42mm variant in midnight black and Rose gold priced at Rs 24,990. The Galaxy Watch features Samsung’s signature rotating bezel and an Always-On OLED display covered in Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ for added protection.
The Galaxy Watch is also 5 ATM water resistant, making it usable in the shower or in the swimming pool. However, Samsung says that the watch should not be used for scuba diving, water skiing, or other activities involving sudden temperature changes. For additional sturdiness, the Galaxy Watch is also gets military-grade MIL-STD-810 certification. In terms of specs and features, the Galaxy Watch is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9110 Dual core 1.15GHz processor and can tracks heart rate, and provides breathing exercises to help users stay focused. In addition, the Galaxy Watch’s advanced sleep tracking monitors all levels of sleep, including REM cycles, to help users get the rest they need to take on their day.
The Galaxy Watch also automatically tracks six of the most popular exercises - walking, running, cycling, elliptical, training, rowing, and dynamic workouts - and features 21 new indoor exercises from a selection of 39 activities. The 46mm Galaxy Watch features a 472mAh battery, while the smaller 42mm unit gets a 270mAh battery. The smartwatch runs on Tizen OS 4.0 and features 768MB of RAM and 4GB of storage on the Bluetooth version. The LTE version of the Galaxy Watch is not available in India as of now.
