A few weeks ago, we covered leaks of Intel’s 9th generation processor, the Intel Core i7-9700K, but now, it seems like there are some more leaks with regards to the products in the Coffee Lake refresh family. The Intel Core i9-9900K and the Intel Core i5-9600K benchmark numbers have shown up on the benchmarking website Geekbench. The Intel Core i9-9900K, according to the listing, is going to be an 8-core/16-thread processor. It means that it will be Intel’s first consumer-grade processor with 8 cores. The chip, as expected, is currently listed as the highest performing processor with 6,248 points in single-core and 33,037 points in multi-core benchmarks. The Intel Core i5-9600K in comparison scored 6,027 and 23,472 points in single and multi-core benchmarks respectively. With Intel’s 9th generation of processors, leaks so far suggest that the company has decided to drop the multi-threading capabilities from even the Core i7 chips. This information comes from a listing via the SiSandra website. The report suggested that the Intel Core i7-9700K was going to sport a base clock speed of 3.6GHz which can be boosted up to 4.9GHz. The core count on the i7 is also likely to go up from 6 to 8 cores. Intel is yet to announce the new processors and it is possible that the leaks are alluding to the actual products Intel might launch, but as with all leaks, there is always the possibility that they may be misleading.
