Snapdragon 845 confirmed for Xiaomi Pocophone F1 as new teasers appear online

If you are looking for the most affordable phone powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC, then the Asus Zenfone 5Z may not be your only option. Xiaomi is all set to launch the first phone under its sub-brand Poco called the Pocophone F1. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage. A 4000mAh battery powers the entire package.

The specifications of the phone are revealed on the box in the unboxing video. Xiaomi has taken to social media to tease the new device. In a tweet Xiaomi has said, “Not just peak performance speed, but actual, real world, speed.” On Facebook the company says, “We are very proud to partner with Qualcomm, the world leader in smartphone performance. Get ready for a whole new level of real world speed.” The unboxing video making its rounds on the internet was posted by slashleaks and showcases the dual-camera setup of the phone along with the notch on the display. It must be noted that the smartphone still retains the headphones jack and has USB-C connectivity.

There are 2 speaker grills at the bottom, but we think only one of them will house the speaker. There is also a cover in the box, which is always a nice touch. The dual camera’s sit in the centre of the smartphone, like we have seen on the OnePlus 6. The camera placement isn’t like what we’ve seen on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The sticker on the screen also reveals that the smartphone will sport liquid cooling. This isn’t the first time that we have seen the implementation of liquid cooling on a smartphone.

One of the first times that we saw liquid cooling in action on a smartphone was on the Nokia Lumia 950 and 950XL where the liquid cooling was used to manage the heating issues of the Snapdragon 810 SoC. According to mysmartprice, the phone will be available in three variants in India – 6GB RAM with 64GB built-in storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB built-in storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB built-in storage. Xiaomi has already subtly confirmed that the smartphone will launch in India. You can read more about it here.
