Following its split from its parent company Oppo, Realme has been tipped to unveil a smartphone sooner rather than later called the Realme 2. After multiple leaks and rumours, we finally have confirmation as to when we can expect the device to be unveiled. The company has sent out media invites for the launch event, which is scheduled to be held on August 28. In the invite, the company not only confirms the name of the smartphone, but also the fact that the device will feature a notch on the display.
The media invite didn’t reveal anything else about the smartphone. However, the company accidently made the image of the smartphone live on their website. While the image was subsequently taken down, it wasn’t before images of the device were already saved and shared. Judging by the images, the Realme 2 will also sport a dual-rear camera setup.
The image also suggests that the Realme 2 will feature a fingerprint sensor located at the back, a feature that was missing from its predecessor, the Realme 1. It seems like the Realme 2 will carry forward the faceted design that was used in its predecessor and the OPPO F7 Diamond Black edition. The phone was shown in two colours, black and blue.
Nothing much is known about the hardware capabilities of the smartphone. According to reports, the phone may offer a similar configuration as the Oppo F7. This could include a 6.23-inch FHD+ display and a MediaTek Helio P60. It is also tipped to offer a 16MP + 2MP setup at the back. Of couse, we'll have to will till the launch to know for sure.
