Nokia 61 Plus India launch expected today: How to watch livestream, expected price, specs and all you need to know


HMD Global is all set to launch a new smartphone today, which is most likely the new Nokia 6.1 Plus. The company has been teasing the launch of a device for some time now and even though it’s not confirmed, it’s speculated to be the global variant of the previously China exclusive Nokia X6. The upcoming product is confirmed to launch as a Flipkart exclusive and the online retailer has also hinted at an exclusive partnership between the two brands.

 If this turns out to be true, buyers can expect some exclusive offers on their purchase. Going by the specifications of the Nokia 6.1 Plus and depending upon what it is priced at, the phone will go up against mid-range devices like the Xiaomi Mi A2, Huawei Nova 3i and the Honor Play.  

Nokia 6.1 launch: How to watch the live stream Nokia is hosting the launch event in New Delhi on August 21, which is slated to commence at 12PM. The company will be live streaming the event via its social media channels like YouTube and Facebook. You can also watch the live stream from the video embedded below.  Nokia 6.1 expected price The 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant of the Nokia 6.1 Plus was recently launched in Hong Kong for HKD 2,288 (Rs 20,000 approx). 

However, in China, the Nokia X6 is available in three variants, two 4GB RAM models with 32GB and 64GB internal storage options, which are priced at CNY 1,299 (Rs 13,700 approx) and CNY 1,499 (Rs 16,000 approx) respectively and a 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model, which is priced at CNY 1,699 (Rs 18,200 approx). 

The smartphone is expected to be priced similarly in In India.  Nokia 6.1 Plus Specifications  The Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to come with the same specifications as the Nokia X6. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and features a 5.8-inch Full HD+ notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The device will be a part of Google’s Android One initiative and is expected to launch running on Android 8.1 Oreo. The dual-SIM device is backed by a 3060 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. 

In terms of optics, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is equipped with a dual-camera system with 16MP + 5MP sensors and Zeiss lenses on the back.
