HMD Global is all set to launch a new smartphone today, which is most likely the new Nokia 6.1 Plus. The company has been teasing the launch of a device for some time now and even though it’s not confirmed, it’s speculated to be the global variant of the previously China exclusive Nokia X6. The upcoming product is confirmed to launch as a Flipkart exclusive and the online retailer has also hinted at an exclusive partnership between the two brands.
If this turns out to be true, buyers can expect some exclusive offers on their purchase. Going by the specifications of the Nokia 6.1 Plus and depending upon what it is priced at, the phone will go up against mid-range devices like the Xiaomi Mi A2, Huawei Nova 3i and the Honor Play.

It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and features a 5.8-inch Full HD+ notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The device will be a part of Google’s Android One initiative and is expected to launch running on Android 8.1 Oreo. The dual-SIM device is backed by a 3060 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.
In terms of optics, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is equipped with a dual-camera system with 16MP + 5MP sensors and Zeiss lenses on the back. On the front is a 16 MP sensor and both the cameras feature a f/2.0 aperture.
