LG had announced G7 ThinQ and G7+ThinQ smartphones back in May. The premium G7 ThinQ phone comes with an iPhone-like notch and top-of-the-line specifications and features. The company has now launched the G7+ThinQ in India. The G7+ThinQ is basically a variant of the G7 ThinQ with more memory and internal storage. The South Korean giant has launched the G7+ ThinQ as a Flipkart-exclusive device for Rs 39,990 and it will be available from August 10 in Platinum Gray and Aurora Black colours. Just like the G7 ThinQ, the G7+ ThinQ comes with a dedicated Google Assistant button, and an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered camera. LG G7+ThinQ specifications and features The LG G7+ThinQ comes with a 6.1-inch FullVision QHD+ display that has a 3120 x 1440 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. With LG’s Super Bright Display technology, the LG G7+ThinQ can be viewed easily even under direct sunlight with brightness up to an industry-leading 1,000 nit, displaying 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut which is much wider than sRGB one. Depending on the type of content, users can set the display in six different viewing modes: Auto, Eco, Cinema, Sports, Game and Expert. In Auto mode, the phone automatically analyses the content, whether its games or photos, and optimises the display and power consumption. The user can fine tune the image even further by adjusting the screen temperature and RGB levels individually. The smartphone also has a new Second Screen that gives users flexible options when it comes to setting up the display to fit their tastes and style. The display can be fully expanded for a bezel-less look by hiding the notch. Users can even change the notification bar to another colour. In the optics department, the smartphone comes with a dual-camera system at the back. The AI-powered cameras are vertically stacked in the centre and the LED flash is left hand side of the camera module. Just below the cameras, there is a fingerprint sensor and the branding. The camera has a 16MP standard lens and a 16MP Super Wide Angle lens. The company claims that its wide angle camera now captures more beautiful landscapes with less edge distortion and selfies are clearer and look more natural compared with previous LG phones. On the front, there is an 8MP camera. The camera offers 19 shooting modes, up from eight from its predecessor. LG claims that the phone now offers enhanced low light photography with the latest Super Bright Camera in which images are up to four times brighter typical of photos shot in dim light. This is due to the combination of pixel binning and software processing. The LG G7+ThinQ comes with Live Photo mode which records one second before and after the shutter is pressed. New to the G-series, the Portrait Mode generates bokeh effect using either the standard or Super Wide Angle lens. LG G7+ThinQ is one of the first devices to get upcoming Google Lens features. Located just below the volume rocker, is a button that launches the phone’s AI functions. A single tap of this button will launch the Google Assistant while two quick taps will launch Google Lens. Users can also press and hold the button to start a chat with the Google Assistant. LG claims that with Super Far Field Voice Recognition and highly sensitive microphone, the phone can recognise voice commands from up to five meters. “The G series received a great response last year with the launch of LG G6 and to further enhance the Smartphone experience, we are proud to introduce LG G7+ThinQ in India. Along with power-packed feature list, the Smartphone is incorporated with Artificial Intelligence technology that increases the level of real time engagement for customers. With this addition to the G series range, we hope to continue to the momentum of providing our customers class-leading products,” Advait Vaidya, Mobile Business Head, said in a statement. The LG G7+ThinQ continues with the heritage of LG’s focus on great smartphone sound and comes equipped with DTS:X and Hi-Fi Quad DAC for virtual 3D sound. When paired with high-impedance earphones, the technology can provide up to 7.1 channel audio experience. For the first time, LG has included Boombox Speaker which is claimed to work as a resonance chamber to deliver double the bass of conventional smartphones. When placed on a solid surface or box, the smartphone utilizes its resonance chamber as a woofer to amplify the bass effect even more, the company claimed. The LG G7+ThinQ is rated IP68 & MLT-STD 810 for durability. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and offers 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and has a 3000mAh non-removable battery.
