SKOAR captures the flag, is the only Indian jury member at The Game Awards 2020

Considered the Oscars of videogames, the Game Awards is an annual show that recognises the best the world of videogames has to offer. The Game Awards started five years ago in 2014 and has not only been a sought-after award, but also a stage for developers and publishers to premiere their upcoming games. This is where we got our first look at the Xbox Series X and Hellblade Senua’s Saga back in 2019. It is also the platform where the heads of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo shared the stage in a never-before-seen moment to honour the art and entertainment medium that is videogames.

From recognising games that tell emotional stories, to games which are pure entertainment and even recognizing independent developers, The Game Awards aims to cover the length and breadth of videogames, leaving no stone unturned. Even those that represent the community, like streamers and personalities, are recognized. Like we said above, in addition to being the platform to recognize the best of the best in gaming, the Game Awards is also home to the future of gaming with never-before-seen footage and 'World Premier' announcements of upcoming games.

Gamers from all over the world tune in to watch their favourite games honoured for excellence. This year, the ability to contribute to that honour is global. The Game Awards comprises of jury members from some of the most prestigious and established names in gaming journalism and content creation from across the globe.

We are proud to announce that SKOAR! is the only publication from India to be one of the Jury members for The Game Awards 2020.

Digit and SKOAR! have been around since 2001 covering consumer technology and gaming. 2001 was the year the original Xbox launched to give the PS2 (launched in November 2000) a run for its money, Apple launched the iPod and Windows XP was released alongside Internet Explorer 6. Needless to say, gaming and the platforms we game on have come a long way. Today we can play games like GTA: Vice City, Max Payne and so many more on a smartphone that fits in our pocket. Back in the day, you had to build a PC to run these games.

Since the dawn of the new millennium, the team at SKOAR! has been building PCs, getting their hands on the latest consoles and games and spending many sleepless nights to unlock trophies and achievements that may not seem real, but are.

Not only have we at SKOAR! covered gaming news, reviews and more but have also built a community of enthusiasts. This community has been exposed to games, gaming hardware and more to not only grow the spirit of gaming but also to give budding gamers an opportunity to experience an art form that can let you live a thousand different lives and visit some of the most magical worlds the imagination can muster.

The Game Awards will stream in India live along with the rest of the world December 11, 2020, at 5 AM on MTV India, Disney+ Hotstar, JioTV, MX Player, VOOT and Airtel. You can learn more about the live broadcast here.
