The next phone from OnePlus could launch as soon as the end of September as per a new leak on Twitter. OnePlus announced its re-entry into the mid-range affordable segment last month with the launch of the Nord in India. The phone is priced starting at Rs 24,999 but this yet-unnamed OnePlus phone could be priced at a more affordable price point.
Before we go ahead, we advise our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt. While OnePlus has confirmed preciously that it will be looking at more affordable price segments with the next phone in the Nord series, it is not confirmed whether this upcoming phone falls in that lineup.
According to a post by Chun (@Boby25846908), the company is looking to launch a phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 or Snapdragon 665 in India. The tweet further says that the price of this phone is expected to be between Rs 16,000 - Rs 18,000 in India, hinting that it could be launched in India first.

While not much is known about this upcoming phone, the tipster indicates that OnePlus’ distant cousin Oppo will also launch a Snapdragon 662-powered smartphone in early-September and that phone is expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.
Interestingly, Motorola launched the Moto G9 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset earlier today and it debuted in India first. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had earlier said that all new devices in the company’s Nord lineup will launch in the US. However, it remains to be seen whether this new smartphone by OnePlus belongs to the Nord lineup or will be a separate series.
If this leak is true, we should hear more about the upcoming phones from OnePlus as we near the launch date.
