Amidst the current COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, Google has announced that it is giving gamers in 14 countries free access to Stadia Pro for two months. On top of this, it was announced that anyone who signs up for the service will get access to nine games for free. This includes GRID, Destiny 2: The Collection and Thumper. Gamers will also have the option to buy and install more games from the store. Those who already have a subscription to Stadia Pro will not be charged for the next two months. However, it should be noted that Stadia has not yet made its way to India and is currently only available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Belgium, France, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, and Denmark.
Google also noted that it has adjusted bandwidth to ensure a smooth experience. In order to reduce load, it has introduced a temporary feature that changes the default screen resolution from 4K to 1080p. However, gamers will still be able to choose their data usage option from the Stadia app.
To recall, Stadia was launched back in November and unlike most other gaming consoles. It streams the games to the user, while the cloud to process the games. This means that all end-users need is a display with an internet connection and a controller. So gamers can play games on their PC, mobile phone or their TV.
