Realme 5i with 5000mAh battery, quad-rear camera setup India launch confirmed for January 9

Relame has been on a smartphone launching spree and after announcing the Realme X and the Realme X2 Pro, it is now ready to launch another device in India. The smartphone manufacturer has confirmed that the Realme 5i handset, which was previously launched in Vietnam, will be officially announced in India on January 9. The Realme 5i comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery that is touted to deliver up to 32 hours of music playback on a single charge. Additionally, the handset sports a waterdrop notch display design and comes equipped with a quad rear-camera setup. 

Realme 5i specifications

Since the Realme 5i has already been announced in Vietnam, we know everything there is to know about its specs. The handset sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection and a 1600 x 720p resolution. It runs on the octa core Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is a 11nm chipset that is paired with Adreno 610 GPU. The device was announced overseas in 3GB and 4GB RAM versions with up to 64GB of storage space and we can expect the same versions to be announced here as well. 

In terms of optics, the Realme 5i sports a 12MP Sony IMX386 main sensor that is paired with an  f/1.8 aperture lens. The main camera supports PDAF as well. There is also an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. On the front is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture that can click HDR and panorama shots. The whole package is backed by a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. 

Realme 5i expected price and availability details

The Realme 5i is confirmed to go on sale in India via Flipkart. It is priced starting at 36,90,000 VDN (Rs 11,530 approx) and we can expect it to be priced similarly or slightly higher in India.
