It’s CES 2020 week and brands such as Lenovo and LG have already announced their new product line-up for this year. Asus is quickly joining them with its own list of gaming devices, namely the ROG Strix GA35/GT35 and Strix GA15/GT15. Both are gaming desktops aimed towards tournament-level e-sports performance. Both desktops are powered either by an Intel 10th Gen Core series CPU or an AMD Ryzen 3000-series processor, depending on the variant. Both models feature Nvidia GeForce graphics. Let’s take a closer look at both of them:
ROG Strix GA35/GT35According to Asus, the ROG Strix GA35/GT35 features a tournament-ready form factor in that the front side of the chassis has two hot-swappable storage drive bays behind a spring-loaded door, which allow the user to load their games and profiles quickly without having to open the desktop up using tools. It also features a carrying handle that’s designed to bear a sustained force of up to 30 kilogramme-force and a dedicated headphone hook that’s good for up to 3 kilogrammes. The desktop weighs 15 kilogrammes.
The ROG Strix GA35/GT35 also features a closed-loop liquid cooling system for the CPU and a dual-fan radiator for upward heat ventilation. Like its other Strix cousins, it features Aura Sync and Keystone II technologies. While the Strix GT35 is powered by Intel’s 10th Gen Core series CPUs, the Strix GA35 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series processors with the top-of-the-line variant going up to an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X chip. Both versions can be overclocked.
Both versions are complemented by Nvidia GeForce graphics with the top-of-the-line variant sporting an RTX 2080 Ti GPU with 11GB of video RAM. System RAM on the inbuilt Asus X570 motherboard can be configured up to 64GB. Storage goes up to 1TB on an M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive combined with up to 2TB of hard drive space. Asus has yet to announce the pricing and availability of this model.
ROG Strix GA15/GT15The ROG Strix GA15/GT15 appears to be a more affordable version of the Strix GA35/GT35. Also outfitted with a carrying handle and dedicated headphone hook, the ROG Strix GA15/GT15 weighs 10 kilogrammes and features a more compact variation of the Wind Shear design seen on the GA35/GT35 to improve airflow. According to Asus, the chassis of the desktop has extensive personalisation options including RGB illumination of its internal components. The desktop also features Sonic Studio III software for customisable audio output.
The Strix GT15 is powered by Intel’s 10th Gen Core series CPUs while the Strix GA15 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series processors with the top-of-the-line variant going up to an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X chip. Maximum RAM supported by the inbuilt Asus B450 motherboard on both versions is 32GB. The processor on both versions is complemented by Nvidia GeForce graphics with the top-of-the-line variant sporting an RTX 2070 Super GPU with 8GB of video RAM.
