Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone SE successor - tentatively called the iPhone SE 2 - in 2020. Now, alleged iPhone SE 2 renders have leaked online. The phone is supposed to pack flagship internals in a not-so-flagship level design. The first leak-based renders and 360-degree video of alleged iPhone SE 2 suggest that it will carry the design of iPhone 8, which means it will come with the Touch ID button. Further, the leaks reveal a single rear camera setup.
The latest development comes courtesy of tipster @OnLeaks in collaboration with iGeeksBlog. At first glance, the iPhone SE 2 looks like the iPhone 8. However, there are said to be a few differentiating factors, both internally and externally, to distinguish between the two phones. On the exterior, the iPhone SE 2 is touted to come with a frosted glass finish similar to the one seen on iPhone 11 Pro. The leaked renders suggest that iPhone SE 2 will sport a stainless steel frame that looks like iPhone X’s frame.
iPhone SE 2 is said to come equipped with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD Retina display with a pixel density of around 326 PPI. The phone is likely to borrow its internals from the 2019 iPhones, which means it could be powered by the in-house A13 Bionic processor. While there is no word on other specifications like camera resolution or battery capacity, the renders reveal a single rear camera setup, which suggests it could come with iPhone XR’s imaging hardware. We can also see a circular home button with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor likely to be embedded in it.
iPhone SE 2 is also rumoured to be named as iPhone 9, which suggests it could be more like an iPhone 8 successor than an upgrade to iPhone SE.
