WhatsApp version 218100 update brings support for iPhone XS Max, redesigned quick actions menu and more

WhatsApp has been updated to version 2.18.100 on iOS and it gets some new features. First off, the app now properly scales on the newer iPhone XS and the larger 6.5-inch display of the iPhone XS Max, which has a resolution of 2688 x 1242p. Till now, the app didn’t conform to the device’s larger resolution and the app screen and the keyboard sizing were slightly off. These problems should be fixed with the new update. Alongside the fix, one will also get new features like continuous voice playback of voice messages and a redesign quick actions menu.  The update will add a new feature that enables consecutive playback of Voice Messages. This means that users no longer need to press the play buton on each audio message. Additionally, iPhone users will see a new revamped quick actions menu when they long press a message. This menu is aimed at making it faster to reply, forward, delete, copy or star the message. This are all the new features WhatsApp has crammed in this version. However, WABetaInfo reports that the upcoming  2.18.90/91 update will bring a feature called Notification Extension, which will enable users to view received images and GIFs directly in the notification bar. As per the report, WhatsApp is also currently testing a Dark Mode in an early Alpha build. The new mode is said to display incoming messages with a dark grey colour and the outgoing messages with a dark green tint. The keyboard will also automatically turn dark within WhatsApp when the dark mode is enabled. An earlier report, WhatsApp said that it is testing a "Recipient limit" on the delete for everyone option, which could impose a limit on the deleted message. In case the recipient does not receive the delete message request within 13 hours, 8 minutes and 16 seconds, the request will be discarded and the message won’t be deleted. One might not receive the message deletion request due to many reasons, like if the recipient's phone is switched off or doesn’t have data enabled. This new feature is currently said to be under testing and could be rolled out in future versions of the app. You can learn more about it here.
