Samsung Galaxy Watch online store in US: Report

Four days ago Samsung’s next smartwatch landed on US Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) website.

The listing suggested that the smartwatch will be called 'Galaxy Watch' (instead of Gear S4), will feature Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, and bear a model number SM-R810. Now a CNET report claims that Samsung leaked the smartwatch on its website in the US and then pulled the listing off.

The US website had a 42mm Rose Gold model of the Galaxy Watch listed, but the price was not revealed. The model number of the listed Galaxy Watch was SM-R810NZDAXAR which does not entirely matched with the one posted on the FCC website.

The FCC documents said that the new Samsung Galaxy Watch, which is codenamed “Galileo” and has a 1.2-inch display, also has variants with model numbers SM-R815U and SM-R815W.

These models are the ones which support LTE connectivity. Some other variants of the Galaxy Watch were also spotted on the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) website.  In the FCC documents, the schematics of the Galaxy Watch showed “SAMSUNG GALAXY WATCH” name at the back. The Galaxy Watch could have a 470mAh battery, which is bigger than the Gear S3’s 380mAh.

A separate report claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Watch is expected to have Bixby integration in place of the dated S Voice feature. The smartwatch could have a dedicated Bixby button and a "Hi, Bixby" launch phrase could be used for activating the feature. Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy Watch alongside the Galaxy Note 9 next month. Photo
